Industrialists Stage sit - in, 15 hurt in cane charge
Hundreds of industrialists came on the roads to protest loadshedding, at Garware point on the Mumbai - Agra highway, on Sunday at 12 noon. Traffic was stopped for nearly three hours and the situation turend serious as a senior PI caned industrialists.
The agitation was withdrawn when the Collector Chokkalingam came to the agitators. The agitators demanded the suspension of Satpur Sr, PI Shantaram Mahajan.
The additional load shedding had severely affected every section of society including industrialists, students, housewives, farmer's trader's etc.
On Sunday, load shedding was affected without notice beyond the stipulated 12 hours in industrial areas. As production stopped, the enraged industrialists held a meeting. About 50 industrialists assembled at Garware point to go to the Ambad MSEDCL sub center.
The police received this information and immediately arrived at the spot. They were followed by the Satpur police, who immediately began a cane charge to disperse the industrialists in which over 15 entrepreneurs were hurt.


Jeevan Gaurav awards presented
Stating that an entrepreneur becomes successful due to tenacity, hard work, self confidence and vision, Laghu Udyog Bahrati National President Vishram Jamdar said that the most important part was quality.
He was speaking during the Jeevan Gaurav puraskar presented by premier industrial organisation of the country. Six entrepreneurs received the award during a meeting of national executive committee at hotel Heritage on Sunday.
The award was given to Pitambari group founder Vamanrao Prabhudesai, Hansraj Agrawal, Somnath Kulkarni, Sunil Raithatta and Laxmi Narkhede of Deepak Industries.

Nashik to get terminus?
FINALLY, the long wait for a terminal at Nashik could end if the Central Railway officials find Deolali Camp a suitable place and thus sanction the plans to set up a Railway terminal there. With Nashik Road having no room for expansion, the Deolali Camp has come up as a natural choice for the railway authorities. The announcement, possibly during the 2007 - 2008 budgets, could also spring up hopes of survey for nashik - pune exclusive route as well as the via - Kalyan train service to start with Nashik District Collectorate S Chokkalongum, Assistant Divisional Revenue Manager A K Mittal, Nashik Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vilas Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police Marotrao Takle, Deputy commissioner Traffic Arjun Ghule and host of other officers were present at the meeting.

Efforts to develop Drama - Sarang
United feeorts are necessary to bring back the lost glory of the Marathi stage, stated the president of the 87th Natya Sammelan, Lalan Sarang. She was speaking during the presentation of various awards to actress Rohini Hattangadi at Hotel Green View on Sunday. Datta Nadgauda, Suresh Gaidhani, Jaidev Hattangadi and others were present on the dais. Sarang further said that everyone in the drama sector should introspect.
