There are clouds of doubt over organizing of the KumbhMela whether Nashik city is well adapted to organize a such a big religious event like the Simhastha KumbhMela which will begin from July to September next year. Encroachments are one of the many hurdles which have to be dealt with immediately and also the river Godavari has to be made clean and pollutant free.
As they city is getting crowded year after year this has taken a toll on the routes to the ‘shahisnaam’ or the ritual dip, for this reason the encroachment must be cleared from these sites. The areas held in reserve for religious ceremonies and accommodation are also not free of encroachment. The authorities in concern have assured that all the necessary actions will be taken to make sure that the KumbhMela is conducted in an even an orderly manner. Time ticks away fast, so preparations for the KumbhMela have to be made on war-foot basis. More than 1 crore pilgrims all over India and the world are expected to come and seek blessing in this religious gathering which happens once in 12 years. Government has authorized budget of Rs 2,400 crore for the KumbhMela to be held in Nashik in 2015. The authorities in charge must make sure that this money is used to make Nashik well prepared to organize such a religious event.
